Easter – A Time of New Hope

“But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” Matthew 28:5-6

Easter marks the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death on the cross. It reminds us of the freedom found in Christ! Easter marks hope in the life of Christians, reminding them that their hope is in Jesus Christ, who is alive! It is a time when even the dreariest of circumstances can shine with a glimmer of hope for the future. In Christ, all things are made new!

How We Can Share This Hope with Others

“Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So, they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.” Matthew 28: 7-8.

The next few verses in Matthew 28, after the angel tells of Jesus’ resurrection, is the command to the women to go quickly and tell the disciples that he has risen from the dead!

This is a command we can still do today. As Christians, we are able, and should, go out and proclaim to others that Jesus died and rose again. Telling others this good news allows for hope to enter their lives and dark times.

Sharing this hope can be done in many ways, most prominently through conversation and action.

Practical Steps to Share This Hope

The season of Easter is a great time to reach out to women in your life who are in need. It is the perfect invitation for women to meet God. There are women who are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy that may need this hope now more than ever. There are women who have been disowned by their families for choosing life for their babies. There are women who are walking this path alone and scared. In this season, encouragement and support is easy to do, natural, and can help a woman change her perspective on her circumstances!

Some practical ways you can do this are by spending time with them intentionally! This allows for conversations and prayer, as well as showing them you care with both your words and actions.

Easter allows for many welcoming events at churches, like the Easter Sunday service, the Good Friday service, and for some churches, even Easter Egg hunts! It is a great time to invite these women into loving Christian communities, showing them the love and redemption found in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and his resurrection.

Caring Network’s desire is to equip women with the ability to choose spiritual life for themselves, as well as physical life for their baby. In this time of hope, we want to help women know the hope they can have in Christ, to empower them to make the right decisions for themselves and their babies. Caring Network also provides many practical resources to help women in need get back on their feet and tackle the task of parenting.
