Getting Churches Involved in the Pro-Life Movement

As an important part of their communities, churches are some of the most integral supports for pro-life organizations and pregnancy centers. Here are some ways your church can go above and beyond as a part of the pro-life movement.

Caring Network is a pro-life pregnancy center ministry in the Chicagoland area that has been providing free services to women in need for almost 40 years. We would not be able to these vital services without the partnership of churches in our community.  If you, your small group, or church congregation would like to become involved in the work of Caring Network, reach out to us today!

How do Churches Partner in the Pro-Life Movement?

Here are just a few of the many ways that churches can get involved in the pro-life movement:

  1. DONATE – Church donations provide valuable funds which enable organizations like Caring Network to open new centers and offer ultrasounds and other free services to women. However, your church can also give mothers and babies some essential physical donations. Encourage your members to donate gently used baby items or furniture to a local center. Host a diaper drive to donate packs of diapers or containers of formula. This tangible support encourages mothers and fathers and is an excellent way to involve your church in outreach.
  2. PARTNER  Through organizations like Caring Network, your church can host groups for mentoring young women in need. Opening your church as a safe haven for mothers and babies is a powerful way to reach out to the community. Through programs like Caring Network’s Connections, you can create a support group for them, throw them a baby shower, and pray regularly for them. For any help that your church cannot offer, refer them to a center like Caring Network where they can get the medical care and counseling they need.
  3. HEAL  Abortion deeply affects the women involved and can cause emotional pain or even trauma. Your church can extend help to women who have already had abortions by referring them to a pregnancy center or opening a group in your church that can be a healing resource. This is a great way to minister to those in need through a compassionate mindset. Through Caring Network’s Restore After Abortion partnership, you can help women and men process the pain of an abortion and receive Biblical counsel and support.

Never underestimate the importance of standing for life as a church. Through outreach, ministry, and prayer, your church can have an immense impact on your community. Let’s stand for life by becoming involved in pregnancy center ministry!

These are just a few examples of the ways churches can become involved in the pro-life movement.  At Caring Network, we also offer other opportunities to volunteer or partner with the ministry. We aren’t able to fulfill our mission and vision without the support of churches and individuals in congregations within our community.  Please contact us if you’d like to receive more information about furthering your pro-life involvement.
