The ministry has been growing and taking new ground and we are grateful to God for His leading. We have much to be thankful for! As you know, during Beth Rockouski’s leave of absence, longtime leadership staff have graciously stepped up to help lead the ministry during this interim. To continue to help fuel this growth, Kirt Wiggins has been appointed as the Interim President of Caring Network.
Kirt is committed to our mission and has served on our board for many years so has extensive knowledge of Caring Network’s structure and inner workings. Additionally, he has served as the chief operations officer for a large missionary organization making him particularly qualified to step in and assist us during this time. Since Kirt will also continue to serve as the Lead Pastor of Pathway Community Church, he will work part-time as the Interim President effective Thursday, January 23, 2020. We are very grateful that God brought Kirt into a set of circumstances that have enabled him to step into this crucial, temporary role.
Thank you all very much for your continued support of our ministry during this transition time and thank you all in advance for joining us in welcoming Kirt Wiggins to the Caring Network executive team!
Spring Fling June 11, 2020!
Get ready to celebrate spring and the long awaited new life it brings at our annual Spring Fling Auction Event at Elements on Water Street in downtown Naperville. The dinner and live auction, featuring a limited number of uniquely packaged auction items, will benefit our Naperville Center and provide funding to help us assist more women in the area. Along with other exclusive packages, we will again offer a week’s stay in Ireland at Trump’s International Golf Links and Hotel Resort in Doonbeg. In addition to an opportunity to play on the Greg Norman designed links course, the resort is located in the beautiful seaside southern county of Clare, and just a 40 min drive to the Cliffs of Moher. Come celebrate the beauty of spring and join us on June 11th in Naperville. More details on the Spring Fling here!
Sanctity of Human Life Recap
To celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday a few of our staff members visited and spoke at various partner churches in DuPage County sharing about Caring Network’s ministry of helping women choose life for their babies. Additionally, 20 partner churches participated in “Baby Bottle campaigns” where baby bottles are distributed to congregations and schools to collect donations and loose change for Caring Network. These baby-centered projects help us continue our efforts to encourage and support women in need! We are grateful to our partner churches who enable us the opportunity to educate their members on the preciousness and sanctity of all human life and help spread the word of Caring Network’s compassionate efforts to empower women to choose life. If your church would like more information about our baby bottle drives, please contact Tracy Kerr. For other ways to get involved at Caring Network, visit check out our Get Involved page.
Granes’ Fly the Coop with Duck Dynasty
Our partners in ministry, the Grane family, recently had the opportunity to hang out with Pastor and Duck Commander, Al Robertson of Duck Dynasty. The crew was treated to lunch at Miss Kay’s Sweets and Eats, where they discussed faith, family, and of course, ducks. This experience was won at our Spring Fling auction event. Packages like this will be available at our next Spring Fling on June 11,2020, benefiting our Naperville center.
Restore After Abortion Update
Exciting things are happening with our post-abortion support ministry, Restore After Abortion! In 2019 Restore served 36 women and men through a faith-based curriculum that promotes hope and healing. After completing the study, participants fill out an evaluation form, sharing about their experience with the program. The men and women who finished the program experienced a 47% improvement in spiritual health and a 50% improvement in emotional health, on average! We are encouraged to see how God is using the Restore program to bring women and men to a place of emotional and spiritual healing following an abortion.
You Can Help!
We often receive requests about how to benefit the women who come to our centers. One easy way to help is by collecting material items for moms in need. Diapers (especially sizes 4-6), baby toiletries, wipes, formula, and new clothing benefit our “Baby Banks,” material goods programs. If you’d like to coordinate a material goods collection for your small group, Sunday school class, or group of friends, contact Tracy Kerr for more information.

Pro-Life Community News
At the end of February, Caring Network participated in the SpeakOut Illinois Conference in Oak Brook. Sponsored by the Illinois Family Institute,SpeakOut Illinois is the premiere pro-life conference in our state, made up of a coalition of more than 40 pro-life and pro-family organizations dedicated to defending life and family. While the majority of groups involved in SpeakOut Illinois do not directly serve women in pregnancy clinics, these Illinois pro-life groups are working together to protect unborn children and collaborating to transform our state’s culture into a one that protects and supports life. We were joined by partners such as The Illinois Family Institute, The Thomas More Society, The Pro-Life Action League, Bethany Christian Services, and Students for Life America.
Highlights from the Conference include:
- Keynote speaker, Mary-Louise Hengesbaugh of Girls’ Health First, reviewed the legal and political climate in the state, highlighting the current efforts of pro-abortion groups to abolish the impending parental notification law, which requires a minor to let her parents know within two days if she plans to have an abortion. She called on Christians to pray and to get involved at this crucial time.
- Pastor Cesar LeFlore, the Founder and Executive Director of the Beloved Community Development Coalition, received the Henry Hyde Life Leadership Award for his years of pro-life work as a pastor and community leader. He challenged us from the Book of Esther, Chapter 4 that “at such as time as this God’s people must not keep silent.”
- Senator Dan McConchie, from Illinois’ 26th District, spoke on the importance of showing up, being direct and passionate when speaking to our senators and representatives on abortion legislation, but also stressed the importance of being factual when we speak and that as Christians, it is also our duty to be respectful, engaging and attentive to their perspective while seeking common ground in order to effectively engage them and enlist their help in this battle to protect Life.
- The speakers highlighted Caring Network several times, telling stories of young women that they have referred to our women’s centers to receive the services and help that we provide!
