The Unplanned and How It Challenges Our Faith

Nick Vujicic is a speaker and author who was born without any arms or legs. His life was very difficult at times, and he questioned God. But after reading a Bible passage about Jesus’s encounter with a man who was born blind (John 9:1-3), Vujicic found His purpose. He had been born so the “works of God might be made manifest in him.” Starting at the age of 19, Vujicic used his unique story to evangelize about God’s message of hope. What seemed like his greatest obstacle revealed itself to be God’s gift to him, as Vujicic went on to touch the hearts of millions of people during his speaking engagements. This reminds us that when we feel burdened by despair, God heals our brokenness and restores us through the revelation of His plan.

Caring Network embodies the blessings of God’s love by reaching out to women and families facing the challenge of an unplanned pregnancy. We understand women may feel overwhelmed by external pressures or outside influences that encourage abortion. By identifying their obstacles, we are able to come alongside them and provide compassionate care. Part of our mission since 1981 has been offering hope to women that inspires confidence in their decision to choose life. Individuals and the community play a large part in our life-saving services. Encountering Road Blocks in Our Faith Journey

Trials that shake us can sometimes arise in the form of obstacles that try to keep us from God. Our time on this earth is brief, and what we encounter here is little compared to God’s greatness. But this can be hard to remember when an unplanned event causes us to stumble in the path that leads us toward Christ.

When we feel weighed down by the burdens of this world, it can be hard to see the future. We may be tempted to rely on our own strength to overcome a sudden trial. But the solution we come up with may not necessarily come from God. In fact, they may tear us further away from him.

As we progress through our journey in this life, it’s important to remember what God tells us in John 15:4-5: “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me…apart from me you can do nothing.”

Only God knows all that will come to pass, as He is the author of our story. He knew us from the beginning, and often without our knowledge, He prepares us for the role of delivering His testimony. We may not always be able to see the fulfillment of God’s promises, but He is there.

When we reach our moments of greatest need, we must remember to call on Him. Only God can keep us grounded and speak to us about where He is calling us to serve.

Steering Others Back Toward Hope

A woman who finds herself pregnant may struggle with regaining her footing. She may feel as if she has been knocked off balance by this unexpected news. Concerns about her current situation might leave her vulnerable to doubt. Much like a reservoir that fills up with water after a major storm, all of her worries about finances and being able to have a child may have led to an overflow of fear.

Since we cannot see the bigger picture, a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy may not be able to envision an image of hope. She may only see her present stress and the short-term relief an abortion offers. The message that she is loved and that help is available to her may be lost to her.

When we meet a woman in crisis, it’s important to communicate a promise of joy and compassion. She may need someone to listen to her with sensitivity and guide her toward resources. God has a purpose for us all. If He creates an opportunity for us to extend His grace, we can speak the words He gives us to impart hope.

Remember how alone and scared you may have felt during a time where you were faced with hardship. What did you need from others in order to help you feel safe? If we’re unwavering in our dedication to demonstrate the love God has placed in our hearts, we can lead others to life-affirming choices.

Caring Network strives to be a present source of support for women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Our free, compassionate services reflect the giving nature of Christ in our actions. Actions speak louder than words. By walking alongside each and every one of our clients, we’re able to save lives from abortion. God gives us opportunities when we do not expect them, and He has placed us in an ideal community where we can share with others the might of His love. Learn how you can get involved today!
