Sanctity of Human Life – A Time to Honor the Gift of Life
The sanctity of human life is grounded in the ideas that God created humans in his own image (Genesis 1:27) and that God values life even within the womb.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:13-16
Caring Network is a pro-life organization in the Chicagoland area. We demonstrate our value for life by offering free early pregnancy services and support to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy. Through our seven area pregnancy centers, we empower women to choose life for their unborn children. What It Is
January marks the month when churches across the nation observe the sanctity of human life. In 1988. President Ronald Regan proclaimed January 17th, or the Sunday nearest to this day, as National Sanctity of Human Life Day, calling for all to gather and give thanks for the gift of life and to reaffirm their commitment to the dignity of every human being and life.
How You Can Get Involved
If your church does not observe this day, bring it up to your pastor or plan an event to come together. This could be a time of worship and prayer, or a time to encourage your church to volunteer at pro-life organizations like Caring Network. Take time to come together with your community to affirm the value of human life, just as the Bible teaches us to.
Additionally, you can take action by volunteering at Caring Network to help save the lives of both mothers and babies. Volunteer your time or finances by getting involved with our diaper drives, baby bottle drives, or donate materials to our baby banks!
